We offer both group and private, one-on-one golf instruction. In our group classes, we maintain a low student to teacher ratio, to ensure that each student gets the personalized attention they need.
Bruce Wimott - Class A PGA Director of Golf
A class "A" member of the PGA of America, Bruce was born and raised in Carnoustie, Scotland, home of the 2007 British Open, within a prominent golfing family. His father Alex is featured in the landmark golf instruction book, "The Search for the Perfect Swing" and his great grand father was head pro at Cruden Bay Links, Scotland, in the late 1800's. After becoming a class "A" member with the British PGA in 1977 he became head pro at Golf De St. Laurent in France before moving back to his homeland to become an instructor at Gleneagles Hotel and Golf Club. Bruce arrived in the U.S. in 1983, becoming the fifth Wilmott to teach on this side of the Atlantic. He has worked with some of the nation's top instructors, including Hank Haney, and credits Hank as being his biggest teaching influence. Tom Carter - Teaching Professional
Tom comes to us from Austin, Texas where he grew up working on his game under the tutelage of Harvey Penick. This set Tom up to be a four year scholarship athlete and captain of the Trinity University Golf Team in San Antonio, Texas.
As an apprentice with PGA of America, Tom has 20 years of golf business experience. Dedicated to raise his level of teaching expertise he spent time with Kevin Kirk, Southern Texas PGA section Teacher of the Year, and Bill Moretti, a Golf Digest Teaching Editor and Director of Golf at the Academy of Golf in Austin, Texas.
Before he left Texas, Tom honed his skills with Hank Haney at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch. Attending Hank's "Teacher Teaches" seminars Tom learned great student/teacher communication skills, direct hands-on techniques to increase the students understanding of swing mechanics, and long-term learning programs. 415.847.0998 / email: email@example.com
Eric Johnson - USTGF Teaching Professional
Eric started his golf career at McInnis Park Golf Academy back in 1997 and became the Head Golf Professional at Peacock Gap Golf Club in 2000. He now dedicates his time to teaching the game he loves.
Eric is enthusiastic about teaching and sharing his passion for the game. His energy and teaching techniques make him a sought after resource for golfers of all skill levels. He has been influenced by some of the game’s best instructors including Hank Haney and Butch Harmon. He is a member of the USGTF - United States Golf Teachers Federation. He is especially known for his involvement in the growth of junior golf in Marin, which makes him such a great fit at McInnis Park.

John Grund - Class A PGA Professional
John comes to us from Southern California, with a career spanning all levels of the game. John excelled as an amateur and collegiate golfer, having played in the 1981 US Amateur at the Olympic Club and four NCAA Championships at his alma mater, UCLA.
John has also excelled as a professional, playing the PGA Tour, Canadian Tour, Mini Tours and PGA Section events. A 5-time Metro Player of the Year in southern California, Order of Merit 3 times on the Canadian Tour, and leading money-winner on the Golden State Tour, he also played in the 1987 U.S. Open at the Olympic Club. 415.599.5037 / email:email@example.com
Rick Jeffery -PGA Apprentice Professional
Rick Jeffery has been a part of the Marin County / North Bay golf industry for the past fourteen years, having spent time as an Assistant Golf Professional at San Geronimo Golf Course from late 1999 to early 2004, then moving to StoneTree Golf Club in Novato from late 2004 to mid 2008. He passed the PGA of America’s PAT (Playing Ability Test) on the first try in May 2008, and since November 2008 has been one of the PGA Apprentice / Teaching Professionals at McInnis Park Golf Academy in San Rafael.
Rick brings his love of the game of golf to his teaching style, and believes that a good instructor should work together with his/her students to identify the unique keys, which allow them to learn most effectively. “I’m not a big believer in the "one style fits all" golf instruction. My job is to adapt to each students style of learning, and find a way to get my message across in a way that works best for them." After graduating from Eastern New Mexico University, with a golf scholarship, Jeff joined the PGA in 1976. As the Head Golf Professional at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico he played professionally throughout the Southwest and Mexico. After spending 12 years learning all facets of Golf including working in sales for Etonic and Avia, Jeff moved to one of the meccas of golf, the Monterey Peninsula.
After relocating to Santa Rosa he returned to his first love and passion of teaching golf. Striving to become a better instructor he joined the teaching staff of the Presidio Golf Club in San Francisco and after 3 years refining his teaching style, Jeff returned to Sonoma County and created very successful beginner programs for both adults and youth, along with teaching hundreds of individual golfer’s. In 2013 he left his teaching position at Oakmont Golf Club and joined the staff at McInnis Park.
